Ravi Chand CBE appointed to NMC’s executive team
The NMC has appointed Ravi Chand CBE as its new Executive Director of People and Culture.
From July 7, Ravi will lead on delivering a fit for purpose NMC through the development of an inclusive, psychologically safe and values-driven environment.
He will provide strategic leadership on people, culture and EDI (equality, diversity and inclusion) and will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the organisation’s strategy.
Ravi joins the NMC from The Cabinet Office, where he is the Director for the Civil Service People and Places Directorate – leading the government's Places for Growth Portfolio and sponsoring the Government Property Agency.
Before the Cabinet Office, Ravi was the Chief People Officer at the Department for International Development (DFID, now FCDO), holding responsibility for people, operations, IT and systems, estates and change.
He was previously the HR director at HM Revenue and Customs with responsibility for workforce management of its 69,000 staff. He led on reforming the workforce to deliver the department’s blueprint ambitions for the future. He also worked as the director responsible for capability, talent and diversity at the Home Office. He was Managing Consultant in a FTSE 100 company, as well as serving as a Police Officer with Bedfordshire Police.
Ravi was awarded a CBE in 2011 and QPM in 2002 for distinguished service, and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
As a member of the NMC’s senior leadership team, Ravi will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the organisation’s strategy, ensuring it remains a values-driven, inclusive, and high-performing organisation.
As part of this, he will ensure the NMC takes forward the findings and recommendations of the Independent Culture Review and deliver its Culture Transformation Plan.
