RCN Foundation awarded prestigious Chief Nurse Adult Social Care Award

The RCN Foundation has received a Chief Nurse Adult Social Care Team Award.

Professor Deborah Sturdy, Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care Department of Health and Social Care, presented the Team Award which recognises the enormous range of skills, expertise and enduring compassion that modern nursing and social care represent.

RCN Foundation Chair in Adult Social Care Nursing, Professor Claire Pryor, and Professor Vanessa Heaslip, Professor of Nursing and Healthcare Equity at the University of Salford, nominated the organisation for its commitment to adult social care nursing since 2013.

“The RCN Foundation has an established track record of supporting nurses working in social care settings. Nurses in care homes have been a priority for the Foundation since 2013, and more recently this focus has expanded to the full scope of social care nursing practice. Their work, grant making processes and dedication have supported multiple innovative projects and has been instrumental in raising the profile of nursing in social care settings, encompassing all fields of nursing, and incorporating wider members of the health and care teams in this work.”
