The QICN launches new district nursing faculty and network

Community nursing charity, The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing (QICN), is proud to announce the launch of its District Nursing Faculty.

The new faculty will provide a professional home for district nurses, offering leadership development, specialist education and access to resources to advance their practice.

The faculty aims to strengthen professional standards, celebrate excellence in district nursing and provide a platform for collaboration across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Steph Lawrence MBE, Chief Executive of the QICN, said: “We are delighted to launch the District Nursing Faculty, which will support and empower district nurses to lead, innovate, and influence in their communities.

“The network complements this work by providing a space for connection, knowledge-sharing, and professional support across the UK.”

Angie Hack QN, Assistant Director of Nursing Programmes and DN Faculty Lead, said: “District nurses are at the heart of community healthcare, delivering care where it is most needed.

“The new faculty provides a professional home for district nurses to access development, share expertise and connect with colleagues, while the network ensures ongoing support and collaboration across the profession.”

Supporting the faculty, the QICN is also launching a District Nurse Network, a national platform for district nursing professionals to connect, share best practice and influence policy and workforce development.

The launch of the District Nursing Faculty, together with the network, marks an important milestone in QICN’s commitment to championing community nursing excellence.

Through its faculties, networks and leadership programmes, the QICN supports nurses in specialist community roles to lead, innovate and influence for the benefit of patients, families and communities.
