QICN appoints Fiona Rogers as Assistant Director of Nursing

The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing (QICN) is pleased to announce that Fiona Rogers QN has been appointed Assistant Director of Nursing Programmes (Innovation).

Fiona joined the QICN as Nursing Programmes Manager (Innovation) in 2023 and has played a key role in supporting nurse-led innovation across community settings.

She also leads the recently launched QICN’s Community Mental Health Nursing Network, bringing together nurses from across the UK to share best practice, build connections and influence the future of community mental health nursing.

A Queen’s Nurse with over 35 years’ experience, Fiona has held senior roles in community services, children’s nursing and commissioning.

She has led programmes focused on improving care for patients and supporting innovation in practice.

In her new role, Fiona will provide strategic leadership for the QICN’s innovation programmes, including leading the development of the Community Mental Health Nursing Network, supporting nurses to collaborate, share learning and strengthen care in the community.

Steph Lawrence MBE, Chief Executive of The QICN, said: “Fiona has made a significant contribution to the QICN’s work since joining the organisation.

“She brings a strong understanding of innovation in community nursing and a clear commitment to supporting nurses to lead change.

“This new role reflects both her leadership and the importance of innovation in improving patient care.”

Fiona said: “I am delighted to take on this new role and continue supporting community nurses to lead innovation in practice.

“Alongside this, I am particularly pleased to be developing the Community Mental Health Nursing Network, creating a space for collaboration, shared learning and professional support across the UK.”
